Cultural Gesture

Hello,

Sorry for the late response, I've been fighting a serious cold here in frigid Philadelphia! But it's good to finally get a post up on the blog. My name is Paul Adler, and I'm a senior at Villanova University here in Philadelphia. I am studying International Relations, but my real passion is DJing and producing house music. I know that the Brazilian house scene is really coming up lately, with great clubs in Rio and Sao Paulo, and artists like Felguk and Dirtyloud tearing up the scene! I wonder if any of our Brazilian friends have heard of these artists?

Anyway, for our assignment today, we are to show our friends in Brazil a cultural gesture from the U.S. I have a particularly good one selected: the "homie handshake," which is the way that me and my friends shake hands when we see each other. It is a gesture that, while seeming on the surface a bit silly, actually conveys great admiration for the other person. I have included a video link to show you what I mean: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-give-a-homie-handshake .

Hope you enjoy!
