Throw your V's up

Hi!

So today I've decided to explain the Villanova V's. From far away they may just look like peace signs but with a closer look and a knowledge of the Villanova Nation this simple hand motion turns into a phenomenon. The first thing you need to know is the fight song for Villanova. Most people do not know the whole song but the beginning is the most important part. It goes "V" for Villanova, "V" for Victory "B" for Blue and "W" for White. At the end of each sporting event (especially men's basketball games) the team comes out and faces the students while the band plays this song. This is when you put your hand in the air give the V. Everyone bounces their hand to the beat of the song to salute the team in their win or loss.

This is just one example of an appropriate time to "throw your V's". It is also appropriate to do this hand signal for a picture or saying hello to another student on campus.

So if you ever on our campus and someone does the peace sign V hand signal give it right back! So now you can fit in here at Villanova! The picture above is from a tailgate for one of our basketball games last weekend. Everyone is wearing their Villanova gear and throwing their V's.
